1 The challenge

Growing fast, but handling legal on the fly

Daniel launched Pharus Wellbeing as a sole trader after a personal experience showed him how much a little knowledge and confidence can help when someone is struggling. But as the business grew — bigger clients, bigger opportunities, and a move from sole trader to a company structure — his approach to legal stayed reactive. Agreements were set up as needed, on the fly, just to keep things moving. He knew he had to protect the company and be fair to clients, but legal was never his wheelhouse.

"

We were quite reactive at the start. If something needed to be done, or something legal, it was just setting up an agreement or whatever it is — trying to wing it.

2 The solution

Industry-specific advice, on demand

With Lawpath, Daniel found two things that were hard to get elsewhere: access and specific knowledge of his industry. He could book consultations and get fast agreement turnarounds remotely — straight from his home office through to his lawyer, Samantha — with no face-to-face delays. Because she understood the business and the nuances of mental health training, he never had to explain it from scratch. And as he moved into digital resources, she brought real experience in IP, disclaimers and distribution agreements, prompting him to consider things he had not thought of.

"

The most valuable part has been access — access to knowledge, and quick turnarounds on agreements and consultations. And it does not have to be face to face.

3 Impact & growth

A signed agreement, and a project across the east coast

When a significant opportunity came up with a long-standing client, Daniel needed an in-depth agreement that protected his business and was fair to the client. The client came back with questions on cancellation terms and a few other specifics. Lawpath helped him fine-tune the wording and sections, with fast turnarounds on each round of amendments. The agreement was signed — and Pharus Wellbeing is now running a huge project across the entire east coast of Australia.

"

That was a significant project for my business. We got it signed, and now we are running a huge project across the entire east coast of Australia.

4 Future aspirations

Making mental health training more accessible, digitally

Education and training will stay the core of Pharus Wellbeing, but Daniel is building out digital resources — microlearning and online tools — so people in blue-collar, farming and rural communities who cannot attend face-to-face sessions can still access the training. That opens new legal ground: distribution and partnership agreements, licensing, IP and potentially trademarks. He sees Lawpath supporting each step as the business moves into the digital space while keeping its training roots.

"

That is where I see Lawpath supporting my business in the future — as we transition into the digital realm, while still maintaining that core training element.
