Protect your online business from legal action

We’ll help safeguard your assets, user data and IP with fixed-price quotes for protecting your website or app.

Do I need a lawyer when starting a website or app?

Every website is different, and as a result it’s crucial to have terms and conditions and a privacy policy drafted specifically to your needs. The terms and conditions lay out the rules for using a website or app. These will depend on a range of factors that are specific to your business, including your revenue streams, your returns policy and your overall business model.

A privacy policy states how a user’s information will be collected, stored and used by yourself and third parties. This needs to be drafted in line with the Australian Privacy Principles released in 2014, and the Privacy Act of 1988 (revised in 2012).

These documents are essential to any new website or app, and it’s key to get these right from the get go to avoid any future legal complications.

What does it cost to hire a lawyer for my website or app?

Costs surrounding online business’ vary depending on the complexity of your model. Because your business is unique, the terms and conditions need to be completely tailored to your needs, meaning that in most situations a universal template won’t be sufficient.

Our network lawyers work on a fixed-fee basis to draft and review your online documents. Good but little errors add more work

A good template, but simple little text bugs, for example under 'interest rate' it only allows 'means a rate 8%' instead of 'means a rate of 8%' and the template deletes a $ sign in front of the 'amount' so the 'amount' shows as simply 83821 instead of $83,821 even if you input the $ and , into the template field. Some more attention to detail is expected with documents produced by lawyers. So i downloaded in word format and edited again.
