Document Overview

This Warning Letter is intended as a warning to the tenant that their breach of contract may lead to a right for you to terminate the agreement. Even where you are not intending to evict the tenant through re-entry or forfeiture, it may be useful as a way of encouraging compliance with the provisions of the lease.

Before threatening termination, you should ensure that you have the right for the tenant's breach, otherwise this notice may be considered a repudiation in breach of the lease and you may be required to pay damages.

For a letter to escalate the matter where the tenant does not adequately address the breach, see Notice to Vacate for Breach (Commercial Lease).
